Cellular Superstardome in 30 days

It all started back in March 2013. I was searching for a karaoke app to download on my phone for some random singing fun. I came across a few various singing apps and after a little reviewing of what was hot, I decided to go with Smule's "Sing!" . I was familiar with Smule already from some of there other apps I had used in the past like Songify and Autorap so I new the product would be good. Never would I have imagined that it would be as good as it actually was though. The app is set up like a karaoke jukebox infused with a facebook type of social networking that packs a powerful punch. First, you create a profile with a username and photo/avatar then you select a song from the list which by the way is constantly growing, then after you select your song you choose how you want to sing it. either a solo where you sing the whole song by yourself or a duet where you sing part of the the song and other random users can join you and sing the other part (this is the most common type) or you can do it as a group where a virtually endless number of other users can join the song and sing along with to create a giant symphonic chorus!

Once you finish recording your song you save it to your profile and it becomes public for any and all other users to hear and/or sing along with you, here is where the fun really starts. You notice that another user has joined your song and now made it a complete duet. You listen and OMG! They sound amazing and not only that but they have left you a comment that you sound amazing!!! Ok, so you comment back and tell them what an awesome job they did on the duet and thank them for joining and elect to follow them. By following them you'll be able to keep track of their performances and join some of their duets and as well you will be able to invite them to join more of your own songs now.

After a few weeks I had begun to really get into creating open calls (songs that people can join with you) I also had been generating quite a little following for myself, I had about 30 people around the world that were following me on the app. Pretty impressive I thought. And not only that but now I was being invited to join other peoples songs also, the comments were rolling in like headlines from the 6:00 O'clock news and I was developing quite a nice little library of songs that I has sung. After a little while I started coming across songs where people were singing the words from another song over the music to the song that they posted. In the world of mixing this is called a "mashup" and it's called the same thing when it's done in karaoke. Doing mashups has become one of my favorite things to do on the app.

I've been using the app now for about 6 months and I have almost 3500 followers and almost 11000 performances. I have become a member of several groups within the app. Groups are where there are multiple people who wear the same tag name on their username to identify themselves as being a member of such and such a group. As a group member you have the opportunity to be part of group songs and collaborations with other users as well as having a coral of users at your disposal for your own collaborative and the support of a group of people who will help expose your performances to other users. The first group I joined was A7 family and though I don't use the A7 tag in my username anymore I am still very much a part of that family and I am also an administrator for their facebook page.

I have always enjoyed singing and have done plenty of it both on stage and off but, becoming a karaoke superstar was never something I thought possible until I discovered Sing! by smule.

Singfully yours
